About the project

Townsville City Council plans to construct a School Bus U-turn facility at the intersection of Allambie Lane and Sterritt Road.

Council has received a community request to provide this infrastructure to provide long term road safety improvements for all road users travelling to and from and/or near Rasmussen State School.

As part of these works, Council will:

  • construct and seal a paved asphalt U-turn facility
  • remove an associated section of fencing and road signage
  • remove several street trees and revegetate the area
  • install a new drainage culvert and re-profile the existing table drain.

These works will not include the install of bus stop infrastructure.

How can you get involved?

Council values community feedback on all our projects and initiatives, and invites residents to submit their feedback on the proposed Allambie Lane U-turn facility.

How long is the consultation period?

Public Consultation on the proposed Allambie Lane U-turn facility will run from Monday 10 February until Friday 28 February.
