PROJECT UPDATE (August 2022)

Thank you for your participation in the public consultation, held between 21 March to 23 May 2022, regarding the Cambridge Park bikemannia renewal in Vincent.

Council’s design team have reviewed your feedback and as a result of this consultation, the proposed renewal of Cambridge Park may include:

  • Address recreation needs of all ages;
  • Provision of a variety of shaded seating and picnic opportunities;
  • Replacement of the bikemannia equipment with bike/skateboard jump challenges; and
  • Incorporating parkour style elements to provide challenges for the young teen age group;
  • Review of the sports court provision;
  • Review of the park drainage adjacent the existing paths.

Council thanks you for your contribution in developing and improving parks and open spaces within our community. Stay tuned for further updates on this exciting project!

Townsville City Council is committed to providing parks, sporting fields and recreation areas with facilities that promote and contribute to the health and wellbeing of our city.

To deliver on this commitment, Council is planning future park and playground renewals across the city.

Why are these renewal projects necessary?

  • To improve recreational opportunities for residents and visitors to enjoy
  • To encourage an active and healthy lifestyle
  • To increase inclusive community facilities within the suburbs.

Community Feedback Sought

Council would like to know what facilities you use at Cambridge Park and what improvements to the existing facilities you would like to see.

Please keep in mind that Council will allocate a budget for each park based on location, size, accessibility, facilities, and proximity to other parks in the neighbourhood.

How can you get involved?

Council invites you to have your say on this project. Your feedback will contribute to renewing this open space and guide future planning decision-making.

Have Your Say

A Have Your Say interactive map and survey will be open for public participation from Monday, 21 March to Tuesday, 19 April 2022.
