Council would like to provide you with an update on the proposed shared pathway at Corcoran St.

Townsville City Council has been successful in securing $24.5 million to improve Townsville’s infrastructure, parks and venues, as part of the Works for Queensland (W4Q) initiative by the Queensland Government. This program which is funded by the Queensland Government and delivered in partnership with Council, aims to assist Council’s to build better infrastructure and create and sustain jobs locally.

Our pathway system is vital to ensuring our city’s commuter network delivers a quality experience to users. New pathways are built to link our city’s infrastructure and support our community’s connectivity needs.

Pathway works and associated infrastructure upgrade works are scheduled to commence on Thursday, 9 July 2020 and are expected to take five (5) weeks to complete (weather and conditions permitting).

Works may involve:

  • Temporary traffic control
  • Potential removal of identified trees
  • Installation of pathway lighting
  • Noise

Normal work hours are 6am to 4pm Monday to Friday and 6am to 2pm on Saturday. In exceptional cases, work may be required outside these hours.
