Greenwood Park Master Plan

Greenwood Park is classified as “District Sport” aligned to Townsville City Council open spaces hierarchy. It is home to 3 clubs including two club houses, 4 sporting fields, one multipurpose court, capacity to park 46 cars and 3 disability parks. The park is secured with single bollard fencing and a number of flood lights.

The clubs have been successfully organising sport tournaments and annual events attracting a large audience placing an increased demand for car parking, more shade shelters, better connectivity (footpaths) and facilities for recreational activities.

While preparing a draft Master Plan, Townsville City Council have listened to historical community feedback and engaged with the clubs to understand their visions and aspirations. The draft masterplan has been developed with sustainability, inclusiveness, accessibility, and social responsiveness in mind.

The aim of this engagement is to identify community priorities to assist Council in finalising the Greenwood Park Master Plan ensuring the future Greenwood Park responds to community needs.

How can you get involved?

Council invites you to collaborate with Council in the design development of this project by providing feedback on the Greenwood Park Masterplan. Council values community feedback on all our projects and invites surrounding residents and park users to participate in the below survey.

A Have Your Say survey will be open for public participation from Monday, 5 June to Monday, 3 July 2023

Council would also like to extend an invitation to meet with the local divisional Councillor and the Council Teams on Tuesday 13 June, 5-6pm at Greenwood Park for an in-person consultation.
