PROJECT UPDATE - November 2023: Marabou Park Playground Renewal

Thank you for your valuable participation in the community consultation, held between 21 November and 16 December 2022, regarding the Marabou Park Playground Renewal in Annandale.

Council's internal design team have reviewed your submitted feedback and as a result of this consultation, the evolution of Marabou Park Playground's exciting play space will include a ship, a combination of four swings, two slides and a seesaw.


Future park upgrades and facility enhancements can create and provide a better-quality use of open spaces for everyone to enjoy, help keep our city cooler, and support biodiversity in our local region.

Council is committed to providing parks, sporting fields and recreation areas with facilities that promote and contribute to the health and well-being of our city.

To deliver on this commitment, Council plans to renew the Marabou Park Playground in direct partnership with our community.

Marabou Park is a beautiful, treed parkland with meandering paths and several existing facilities that will be retained, such as seats, bins, a drinking fountain, a picnic shelter, junior play equipped with swings, exercise equipment, cricket nets, half basketball court and mini field.

Your valuable feedback can provide community guidance regarding Council's future decision-making and planning opportunities for this public park.

What was included in this project?

As part of this project, Council plans to:

  • Relocate the playground based on community selection
  • Replace the play tower based on community selection
  • Understand how the community interact within this quality open-space environment
