PROJECT UPDATE (AUGUST 2022)
Thank you for your participation in the public consultation, held between 20 September to 18 October 2021, regarding the McConachy Park playground renewal in Cranbrook.
Council’s design team have reviewed your feedback and as a result of this consultation, the proposed renewal of McConachy Park playground has included:
- Replacement play equipment with more play options, including swings, a double slide for younger children and a balancing challenge for older children;
- Placement of the playground in a naturally shaded location within the park, with the design being sympathetic to the existing tree roots and ensuring all existing trees are retained;
- Renewal of the drinking fountain and litter bin;
- A linking footpath which enables easy access of the park’s facilities as well as a new circular route for riding activities;
- Entire park irrigated and new soccer goal/rugby posts installed;
- Additional tree planting and bollards along Castellana Street to prevent vehicle entry
Council has successfully installed the playground infrastructure and works have been completed. Photos of the park renewal can be found in the Images Tab.
