Consultation has concluded
Townsville City - Events Strategy
Townsville City Council is seeking community and business feedback on the future direction of events held within the Townsville City (CBD) district.
Council values and thanks contributors to prior Townsville Eats and Christmas Events surveys - your feedback has directly helped shape current and future events, and Council is committed to working with businesses, residents and attendees to continuously improve our event offerings to our community.
Based on feedback gained from previous individual event satisfaction surveys, Council has determined the following key goals:
Enhance the benefits these events bring for all residents, attendees and businesses;
Improve advance notice around the events schedule and impact where possible;
Maintain the amenity of the CBD and relevant precincts; and
Ensure impact to bricks-and-mortar business is kept to a minimum.
In consideration of prior feedback and the above goals, Council now invites comment on 5 (five) key event areas:
Event Experience
Logistics and Access
Event Contact and Communications
Impact on Businesses
Ideas and Innovation
These five areas will help determine further opportunities for improvement and mitigate any risks or adverse impact on city traders and event attendees. Within the survey, traders will have the opportunity to register for a workshop to discuss these five key event areas in further detail.
Additionally, Council would like to provide the opportunity for residents, businesses and attendees to provide comment on the 2023 Christmas In the City Event Plan - this can be found in the Documents tab on the right of this project page.
Have Your Say
Residents, businesses and attendees are invited to complete the below survey below to provide feedback to our team to help inform the direction of future events in the city.
The Townsville City - Events Strategy Surveywill be open for feedback until 5pm Monday 22 May, 2023.
Council thanks you for your contribution in helping us provide quality community events for the city.
