Consultation has concluded
Background
In the Townsville Local Government Area, most residents receive a red bin for general waste and a yellow bin for recycling.
Recent data has shown that:
19% of the items in the yellow recycling bin cannot be recycled and have been added incorrectly.
21% of the items in the red general waste bins could have been recycled if they were put in the yellow bin.
Council is looking for the best way to fix these problems so that the right items end up in the right bin.
How can you get involved?
Council invites residents and the general community to participate in the Waste Behaviours - Community Sentiment Survey found below to help identify trends in waste behaviour and identify potential solutions.
