Murray Skate Park Activation Upgrade
PROJECT UPDATE - March 2024: Murray Skate Park Upgrade Construction.
Thank you for participating in the community consultation for the Murray Skate Park Upgrade project in Annandale.
The Council's internal project teams have reviewed all submitted feedback and as a result of this overall consultation, the evolution of the Murray Skate Park Upgrade will see the delivery of free-flowing, transitional skating lines with challenging features that aim to provide a unique family-friendly, modern, and activated skate park for community and visitors to enjoy.
The Murray Skate Park Upgrade works are scheduled to commence on Monday, 26 February 2024 and are expected to take five (5) months to complete.
The Council will partner with the community to co-design and develop a new modern Skate Park facility within the Murray Skate Park in Annandale.
Prospective Park renewals including Skate Park Upgrades can create a better-quality open space environment for everyone to enjoy, help keep our city cooler, and support biodiversity in our local area. Park renewals including activation upgrades contribute significantly to the liveability and neighbourhood character of the identified suburb and are highly valued by the community.
This exciting evolutional project could potentially consider a complete renewal of the existing Skate Park features within the Murray Skate Park undertaken through extensive community consultation that could modernise and provide a quality open space designed in partnership Skate Park environment for all members of our region.
Council is now inviting our community to participate in the second stage of consultation requesting your valuable contribution to the proposed Skate Park concept design that will unlock the vision of a unique family-friendly, modern, and activated Skate Park for a truly iconic and appealing destination for our community to enjoy.
Please be advised that the delivery of this project has been undertaken in stages with Stage 1, understanding of the community needs, transcending into Stage 2, concept design community feedback, so please register and or follow this project to continue the journey with an anticipated skate park construction commencing in 2024.
