About the project

Townsville City Council plans to construct a School Bus U-turn facility at the intersection of Allambie Lane and Sterritt Road.

Council has received a community request to provide this infrastructure to provide long term road safety improvements for all road users travelling to and from and/or near Rasmussen State School.

As part of these works, Council will:

  • construct and seal a paved asphalt U-turn facility
  • widen the Allambie Lane left-hand turning lane at the intersection of Allambie Lane and Sterritt Road to allow bus turn movements
  • install new drainage culverts and re-profile the existing table drain.

These works will not include the install of bus stop infrastructure.
