Gardens without Borders Survey
Consultation has concluded
Townsville City Council would like to better understand your views on urban gardening in the Dry Tropics.
In urban contexts with growing population density, residents are embracing previously ignored, ‘in-between’ public spaces as offering potential to support greater ecosystem services. Roadside vegetation on street verges (footpaths) can play an important role in contributing to urban ecosystem services and public greenspace.
Townsville City Council is inviting residents to complete the below expression of interest survey to help inform Council of the aims and goals of our local community and shape upcoming roadmaps for gardening in the urban environment specifically for ‘in-between’ spaces and ‘common-ground’ (public gardens) land spaces.
Residents are invited to provide their feedback by completing the Gardens without Borders Survey found below.
You can also use the Gardens without Borders - Interactive Map by clicking on the Places Tool below and dropping a pin - this could be to highlight some great community greening in your neighbourhood, or even to bring visibility to community spaces that may need a green thumb or two!
Community consultation on this project will run from Friday 11 March through to Sunday 12 June 2022.
