PROJECT UPDATE (DECEMBER 2023) - Edenbridge Park

Thank you for your participation in the public consultation held between 8 May to 2 June 2023, regarding the Edenbridge Park Fountain Removal and New Recreation Space in Kirwan.

Council’s design team have reviewed your feedback and consequently has developed a vision for what Edenbridge Park could look like. This vision includes site improvements to meet the needs of the community, address all site issues, enhance the overall usability of the park, and revitalise park amenities and facilities.

A Landscape Concept Plan consisting of two stages has been developed including: a fitness node at northern end (Stage-1); and a play node at southern end (Stage-2).  Artist Impressions of the fitness and play nodes are available to view (located on the right side of the page.)

The theme ‘Busy Bees’, is inspired by local flora and fauna. It will be incorporated across both nodes with customised eye-catching fitness and play equipment and embellishments. A unique equipment with honeycomb patterns in the surface resembling a bee’s habitat will contribute to imaginative play and more engaging spaces for the community.

In preparation for the proposed upgrades, Council is planning to remove the existing fountains in December. The plan for the remediation in the interim, is to reshape the site, apply topsoil and grass, until Stage-1 begins.

A works notification with additional information relating to fountains removal work will be sent to surrounding and directly affected residents prior to works commencing.

Location: 21-51 Edenbridge Drive Kirwan

INITIAL CONSULTATION - Edenbridge Park

The park fountains at Edenbridge Park in Kirwan have come to the end of their useable life and are unable to be maintained, making them a hazard in the neighbourhood. Council is renewing the park to ensure better-quality facilities are available for the public to use.

As part of fountains removal, Council is committed to turning the area into open space. Council would like to work with the community to develop a vision for what a remediated area might look like and how we get there.

The plan for the remediation is to reshape the site, apply topsoil and grass to the area of the fountain on the northern end, and install a new recreation area on the southern end of the site.

This engagement aims to identify community priorities to assist Council in shaping the design of the new space.

How can you get involved?

Council invites you to participate in the co-design of Edenbridge Park by collaborating with Council in the design phase of this project. Council values community feedback on all our projects and invites surrounding residents and park users to participate in the below survey.

A Have Your Say survey will be open for public participation from Monday, 8 May to Friday, 2 June 2023.
