Consultation has concluded

Townsville City Council is committed to providing the most accurate and informative resources to the community when it comes to natural disasters and the risks of flooding across the city.

The 2019 monsoon event affected many of Townsville's residents and highlighted vulnerable areas within our community that were impacted by floodwaters. Since the 2019 event, Council has conducted a review of all relevant data in conjunction with the Townsville Local Disaster Management Group (TLDMG) and the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) to produce material to assist the community in understanding flood level warnings, with references to local landmarks.

The Flood Level Information Flyer, found within the Document Library on this page, is now open to community input.

The purpose of this engagement is to consult with the community on the information found in the flyer and seek feedback on the identified landmarks (indicators) to ensure they are appropriate and easily understood.
