About the project

Townsville City Council is undertaking early planning for the playground renewal at Freemasons Park, Pallarenda and is seeking community input to co-design the renewal.

Freemasons Park represents a vital community asset intended to gather everyone in a fun, welcoming and confortable environment. A re-design of the current playground layout could improve the parks' function, amenity and reduce the impact on the nearby Fig Tree.

While any improvements to the playground are not yet part of Council's Capital Works Program for construction, community feedback will help determine the preference for the replacement playground equipment. It will also help support potential future grant applications and funding opportunities.

Council is seeking your input to understand better the way the community use the park and woul like to know the following:

  • When and how you currently use Freemasons Park
  • What you love about the park
  • What improvement you would like to see

Your valuable feedback will provide community guidance regarding Council's future decision-making and planning opportunities for this park.

Council invites you to participate by providing feedback on the potential renewal of Freemasons Park playground by collaborating with us in the 'pre-planning' phase of this project. Your thoughts and contributions are vital to our planning.
