Townsville City Council is committed to providing and maintaining over $5.4B worth of community assets consisting of water and wastewater networks, bridges, drainage, roads, waste management, community facilities, sporting venues and more throughout our city. Through this commitment, Council is proposing the following important pathway connector works within Jonquil Crescent, Annandale.
Our city pathways play a vital role in ensuring that our communities commuter network delivers a quality experience to all users. New pathways are built to link our city's infrastructure and support our community's connectivity needs.
What is included within this Jonquil Crescent Pathway Upgrade proposed project?
Council proposes to construct a new pathway along the southern side of Jonquil Crescent between the corner of Jonquil Crescent and Cypress Drive through to the entrance of Annandale Christian College, Annandale. The primary purpose of this pathway is to provide a safe, all-accessibility pathway connection from the existing pathway situated within Cypress Drive through to the main entrance of Annandale Christian College.
As part of this project Council intends to:
- Construct a section of 1.5-metre-wide plain concrete pathway
- Remove palms within the pathways alignment where required
- Remediation of the site post pathway installation
This project will provide long term road safety improvements for all road users and pedestrians travelling to and from the Annandale Christian College.

How long is the consultation period?
Community Consultation for the Jonquil Crescent Pathway Upgrade, Annandale proposal opens Monday, 20 September and will conclude on Friday, 15 October 2021.
