About the project

Townsville City Council plans to renew the pathway at the intersection of Landsborough and Paxton Streets.

This project is funded by the Queensland Government under the School Transport Infrastructure Program (STIP).

The STIP provides funding for projects that improve the safety and operations of transport at schools and provide long term road safety improvements for all road users travelling to and from a school and/or travelling near a school in Queensland.

As part of these works, Council will:

  • construct a section of 1.5-metre-wide plain concrete pathway
  • construct hard concrete pedestrian refuge medians
  • reconstruct an associated section of kerb and channel and kerb ramps
  • upgrade street lighting.

How can you get involved?

Council values community feedback on all our projects and initiatives, and invites residents to submit their feedback on the proposed pathway renewal.

The short feedback form can be found on this page.

How long is the consultation period?

Public Consultation on the proposed pathway renewal will run from Monday 27 July until Friday 14 August.
