Townsville City Council plans to reconstruct Ogden Street between Stanley and Blackwood Streets.
As part of these works, Council originally proposed Ogden Street traffic conditions permanently change to accommodate one-way traffic only.
Initial consultation with key stakeholders, including business and property owners in the immediate area indicated an opposition to the one-way traffic proposal.
Council has listened to this feedback and has amended the concept design to maintain two-way traffic.
Following on from our initial consultation, Council now plans to:
• construct an exposed aggregate concrete pathway on both sides of the street • replace driveway crossovers and accesses • renew the kerb and channel • reconstruct the road pavement.
Council will contact residents before we begin construction activities.
Please review the design graphic in the 'Document Library' for more details.
