Townsville City Council values community safety and works to improve it through different means. When residents feel safe in public spaces and engage with their community, it boosts well-being and makes our city more enjoyable to live in.
This proposed Community Safety and Wellbeing Plan outlines the Council's current and future strategies for enhancing community safety. The primary goal is to improve perceptions of safety, reduce crime, and strengthen community resilience.
This plan will establish an evidence-based and coordinated strategy for community safety and well-being in partnership with the community. It will serve as a framework for identifying and addressing community safety issues in a unified manner. Additionally, it is a vital tool for guiding the Council's future decision-making and encouraging ownership and involvement within the community.

Council will engage with community members to ensure effective collaboration in this consultation, which opens Monday, 10 February, and concludes Friday, 14 March 2025.
